About This Recipe

I haven't met anyone that doesn't love pizza. This pizza is special. It has fresh fig flavors, crisp peppery arugula, the saltiness of Parmigiana and the flavors are accented by Italian artisan meats. Delish!

Fig Preserve Pizza
Ingredients

Pizza Crust – Your favorite recipe or prepared crust

1/4 Cup or enough to cover your pizza crust - Fig Preserve

1 large onion

1/8 lb. thinly sliced prosciutto or other Italian meats

¼ to 1/2 lb. of cheese – Brea, blue, goat, mozzarella or other.

EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil)

Arugula

Fresh Lemon Juice

Preparation

Preheat oven to 550 degrees.

Caramelize the onion: Cut onion in rings. Separate the cut onion rings into singular rings. Heat oil or butter or a combination of both in a pan. Sauté the onion rings until they are translucent but not browned.  Set aside.

Add lemon juice to your EVOO, this will brighten the flavors. 

Prepare your crust.  Use the raw or uncooked crust of your choice.  Brush with the lemon EVOO (extra virgin olive oil).

Spread the Terra Verde Foods’ Fig Preserves over the crust. Use enough to cover the crust with the thickness you desire.

Spread the caramelized onions evenly over the entire surface of the pizza.

Spread the Italian meats  of choice over the entire surface of the pizza.

Cut or shred the cheese of choice evenly over the entire surface of the pizza.

Bake in a high heat oven on pizza stone, large cast iron skillets or Pizza Oven according to the directions provided.  

Remove from oven when completly cooked.  Add fresh arugula tossed with fresh lemon juice & EVOO on top of pizza before serving.

Serve immediately!
